Like the sweater?
Hello, my name is Mitchell. Welcome to CISSP Zone
I’ve been working in information security for over 12 years. Early in my career I managed technical gadgets like firewalls, IDSes, and network scanners. Over time I’ve done less technical and more policy work. By policy work, I mean lots of meetings and email.
I have performed information security work as a consultant, contractor, employee, Marine, and entrepreneur. I’ve done this in the government, healthcare, accounting, and publishing sectors. This has given me an opportunity to think about a wide variety of interesting problems, and do some really stupid things to try and fix them.
I currently hold the CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, Security+, and Network+ certifications. In the past I’ve also held the CCSA, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, and NSA-IAM certifications. These have either expired or are so old they really shouldn’t count anymore. I’m also pursuing a BS in Information Systems Security at the American Military University (AMU).
Currently, I’m an Information Assurance Manager (IAM) for the Department of Defense. As such, I won’t be posting specific security related situations that I come across during my job.
Enough about me, go study!
Mitchell
